The main five pathways taken by young Australians between the ages of 16 to 25 years as they transitioned from school to work are:
Pathway 1: Higher education and work (60%) – university
Pathway 2: Early entry to full-time work (23%) - apprenticeships & traineeships
Pathway 3: Mix of higher education and VET (8%) – switching between university and apprenticeship & traineeship
Pathway 4: Mixed and repeatedly disengaged (5%) – labour market movement
Pathway 5: Mostly working part-time (4%)
