
What does a formworker do?
Formworkers install temporary structures to support construction work, for example concrete mouldings. Support structures may use steel, timber and/or heavy plastic.
A common formwork process includes the following steps:
- Forming a contained space (mould) into which concrete is poured.
- Concrete is poured into formwork moulds.
- Concrete sets and formworkers remove the support forms.
- Formworkers clean and prepare moulds for the next project.

The weekly rates of pay have been calculated with any tool allowances applicable to that trade and is based on a Junior Residential Apprentice who has completed Year 12.
