Skilling up our Mob 

The NSW Department of Industry is committed to improving the vocational outcomes and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people so that they excel and achieve in every aspect of their education and training. 

In line with this policy, Training Services NSW has created the Aboriginal Services unit to manage a number of programs. These focus on improving access to employment and creating business opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The Aboriginal Enterprise Development Officer (AEDO) Program is a free program for Aboriginal people considering starting up their own business or expanding their current business.

The New Careers for Aboriginal People (NCAP) program is a free program for Aboriginal people seeking employment and training advisory support services.

Elsa Dixon Aboriginal Employment Program (EDAEP) 

The EDAEP provides funding to organisations to support Aboriginal education, employment and training by 

- Subsidising the salary, development and support costs of Aboriginal employees in a public service agency or local council 

- Funding innovative community projects

Aboriginal Workforce Development 

Aboriginal Services support's Industry by providing a one-stop Aboriginal employment advisory service. 

To create and deliver workforce development strategies to employers and industry sectors wanting to employ and retain Aboriginal apprentices and trainees in their workforce.
